The Most Romantic Couple Destinations In Malta

With its abundance of natural beauty and welcoming weather, Malta is the quintessential romantic destination of the Mediterranean. Are you looking for the perfect place to spend Valentines Day, or ask for her hand? Here are the most romantic locations across the Maltese archipelago where you can spend some delightful time with your loved ones.

The San Anton Garden (Valletta)

The San Anton Gardens is not a common name you will come across in Malta travel guides, but this is a beautiful place to go with your partner. You can take a peaceful, romantic walk among the flowers that have been brought here from various parts of the world. You will also find some Victorian sculptures and fountains within the park. But, the best attraction is undoubtedly the aviary, which is home to a vast array of bird species.

Ghajn Tuffieha (Mgarr)

Ghajn Tuffieha, also known as Riviera Beach, is one of the best sunspot spots in the country. So, you can imagine how wonderful it would feel like to have a cup of coffee with your beloved as you see the sun plunging down the horizon at Ghajn Tuffieha. Just spread a sheet or blanket on the sand, cosy up, and savour this seaside delight together.

Comino

The small island of Comino is known for its hidden beaches, pristine azure waters, and breathtaking scenery. This is an isolated island where you can have the most unfiltered and untouched experience of Malta’s sensational natural treasures. If you want some secluded time, away from the commotion of busy life, this is the place to be.

Mellieha Sanctuary Square

Go to the Mellieha Sanctuary Square to discover an exquisite blend of Malta’s scenic beauty and its rich culture. It is located at the centre of Mellieha, a tiny Northern Malta village home to the iconic Popeye Village. Here you can try out the local cuisine, buy traditional handicrafts and get some fascinating shots of the onlooking Comino and Gozo islands.

Dingli Cliffs

Gazing at the uninterrupted spread of ocean blue from the Dingli Cliffs is a bucket-list-worthy experience. The unimpeded landscape offers a majestic view of the sunset as well. A great place to share a kiss or take some photos together. Unsurprisingly, it is a popular spot among couples for proposing.

Mdina

Mdina is a city where time appears to have stood still till the medieval ages. It seems like a place out of the fairytales, and you would love to be in a fairytale with your precious one, won’t you? Browse the ancient roads of the city with your beloved, admire the architecture together, head to the bastions and take in the stunning views, and finally treat yourselves to the special local chocolate cakes on your way back.

Gozo

With its scenic peaks and beaches, Gozo offers an irresistible package to all lovebirds. The beaches here have more privacy than the tourist hotspots. You can have each other by your sides and see the ocean flirting with the rocky shores of the island with its endless stream of waves.
